I have no idea why I have not known this man's name before today. No. Idea. How I came across him was I was listening to the Replacements' album Don't Tell A Soul (which happens to be one of my favorite albums of all time) and I've always loved the cover of the album, which is a black and white photo of Paul Westerberg. The cover suits the album really well, because it's a lot more mature than the band's previous albums. ANYWAY, I thought that I should look up the photographer who did the cover.... and he's from St. Louis. I don't know why but I always get 10x more excited about a photographer/musician/artist or whatever if they have lived or were born in the general area that I was born and raised. It seems like my thought process is: "Oh. Well because we have lived in the same general area, I have a much better chance of turning out like him and doing some awesome work as well." Which really has no logic to it at all. But anyway. Aside from his commercial work, he also has some really interesting personal work.
Here's his website (check him out right now): http://davidseltzerphotography.com/index.html
